Always Coldplay

I have loved Coldplay ever since the release of their debut album, 'Parachutes' in 2000 - when I had just completed my GCSE's. I loved this album from the first time I played it, and I still love it now. In fact, 'Parachutes' features my favourite ever Coldplay track, which is 'Yellow'. 'Parachutes' helped me through a difficult time in my teens, and so I loved Coldplay for this.

Each of Coldplay's albums have come at important times in my life. Every single song lyric is masterful and I love to read the lyrics over and over to grasp their meaning. To me, Coldplay's albums progress in parallel with my own milestones:

  • 'Parachutes' was released as I finished secondary school and changed to a new school for sixth form;
  • 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' was released as I left the home I grew up in and moved to Lincoln to begin my University course.
  • 'X&Y' was released in the month that I finished University and ready to begin my working career;
  • 'Viva la Vida' was released a month before my wedding day - the greatest day of my life;
  • And finally 'Mylo Xyloto', Coldplay's 5th studio album, is due to be released on 24th October this year. This will be just after my 28th birthday. This year especially has been an important year for me, and I know that Coldplay's new album will help me to get through some important changes in my life.
To end this first post, I would like to share the video for Coldplay's latest single, 'Every Teardrop is a Waterfall'.....Enjoy!
